2nd Annual Cortez Idle/Idol Grand Finale Concludes
Pelican Pete's was the place to be, Saturday August 30, 2008.
It was a night to remember, as we crowned the 2nd Annual Karaoke Contest Winner, the house was packed, and then some,
as it was standing room only! Of the 13 finalists that competed, judges selected the top 3, and they were;

What a night! The competition once again, very tuff and ended up with a tie, therefore
3 contestants will move onto the Grand Finale, August 30, 2008. Judy and I are just amazed with the quality, and talent of
all the singers...they all could be professionals!

Karaoke Contest Week 6
What a night! The competition was intensed, and the judging was tight. Singers
all did a great job, and it was a close one, again Judy and I are just glad we do not have to pick the winners, that's why
we have judges. As we move into week 7, the competition has really stepped it up, all these folks could cut their own album,
that is how good their performances were.

We had some technical difficulties...were back up and running, this
past weeks show was dynamic! Lots of talent!
Karaoke Contest Week 3
Cortez Idle Continues at Pelican Pete's
Can you sing? Not in the shower,
but on a stage? If so, take a shot at warbling your way to $1,000.
That's the top prize in a karaoke contest playfully dubbed "Cortez Idle" at Pelican
Pete's, 12012 Cortez Road. The weekly contest began July 12 and continues Saturdays until August 30. The grand prize is sponsored
by Pelican Petes of Cortez Village, Florida.
A dozen or so finalists will compete on the final night for the three prizes.
Second place earns a one-week stay in a Holmes Beach vacation rental on Gulf Drive, sponsored by A-Paradise Vacation Rentals,
while the third-place finisher gets a gift certificate. There's a $15 registration fee.
